Vintage Aquamarine Dangle

These 1940's vintage aquamarine dangle earrings are re-vamped from a bracelet! I found them at Antique Haven, in Pawtuxet Village and they were simply calling my name!Built like Ft. Knox, the old jewelry is a challenge to separate. These were no different, however, the results are this classic pair of earrings. The stones are sky blue with amazing depth. The links are simple and elegant. They are custom made to face forward so that you can see them along with all of your admirers! They are 2 1/4" long, with the 14k gold filled hook. The width of the frame with the stone is 1/2' wide and high. You can find them in my Etsy shop, Lilleypad.

The River's Edge...On Consignment!!!

I met Jim Bradley at the Aspray Boathouse holiday show in December. His display was parallel to mine, so we had a chance to talk in between all the action. I knew I liked him when he made a joke about my giving him my last double chocolate Milano cookie. Yes, people, of course, I gave him the cookie.

Jim and his lovely wife, Nikki have a fabulous shop in town (Pawtuxet Village rocks), called The River's Edge Flowers & Gifts. The River's Edge Flowers utilizes only the freshest of the world's flowers, exceeding the ordinary and producing lasting memories. Whether it is a bouquet going to your sweetheart just to show you love them or a large event, such as a wedding. You can see from the photos just how fresh and gorgeous their flowers are. I was over there yesterday taking photos when Jim came in with a couple of boxes (see pic above), which he just picked up from the airport. Included, were Gerberer daisy's, which were like Siamese twins, each stem

was a double flower!

The store supports local artists as well where work is sold on consignment. I brought some of my framed 5x7 photos over earlier in the week. Nikki and Jim picked 5 and have hung them in unique spots throughout the store. They have so many artists on display,

including a large array of jewelry, from delicate wire work to scrabble piece pendants, handmade soaps (yeah for StellaMarie), ceramics, cards, handmade aprons, for children as well, unique handmade mobiles, candles, stained glass, paintings, and their own creations of melted vinyl records to be used

for bowls! .

The River's Edge is a bright spot in our Pawtuxet Village! You can find Nikki & Jim Bradley at 2172 Broad Street, Pawtuxet Village, RI. 401-941-9972.

Home Spa!!!

Yet another very cold weekend. My son is now back in Boston, snug as a bug, after Winter break...whew. Bless his heart, he kept his whirlwind contained to his room. However, I did spend quite a bit of time 'in there' to clean up, change the sheets, and enjoy the sound of the quiet. After a couple of hours I decided to pull out our new Conair aqua foot massager.
Aqua-jet foot massage has a relaxing effect on tired and cold feet. In this technique, two hydro-jets are used for massaging the foot. The feet are immersed in a pedicure bath filled with water. The water is released by the hydro jets at controlled speeds, which stimulates the circulation of blood. This stimulates the feet reflexes, thereby giving making your feet relaxed. The temperature of water in the equipment is maintained at a certain level....warm, wonderfully, warm!
I also made an avocado/honey facial masque, which I warmed up in the microwave. So, there I sat for 15 minutes, green faced (yes, good enough to eat!), enjoying the gentle aqua-jet massage. You can really feel a lingering 'tingling' from the hydro bubbles, and a certain satisfaction, knowing that you have done something truly kind for yourself. I left the avocado facial on for about 30 minutes and now, I am only sorry that I didn't think to take a picture of the mixture....next time!!

Baby it's Cold Outside...

Really, it could be worse, much worse. For example, check out WillOaks Studio blog. However, the snow is blowing horizontally....small dog alert!!!!

Here is the forecast for Providence for today: Snow, mainly before 4pm. High near 23. Blustery, with a north wind between 16 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible. A chance of snow showers, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 20. North wind between 11 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Now, this is not a blizzard, this is just pure cold air w/ some snow flakes being being blown around. I could bundle up and go for a walk, or, I could light a fire, curl up w/ the kitty's, my prisma colors and a sketch pad...hmmmmm....
