A very Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate. I love Thanksgiving. Honestly, it's my favorite of the holidays. As children we spent the most wonderful days in the beautiful Bear Mountain in Coldspring, New York. Things have changed, family members have passed, children have been born and grown into young adults. We have so much to be grateful for. We have our health, a warm home, food in the fridg, our sense of humor is in tact, a loving family, a relationship with our God.
Norman Rockwell painted a very famous picture of a family around the Thanksgiving table. He also painted many different covers over the years for The Saturday Evening Post for their Thanksgiving edition. I chose this cover because it touched my heart. It made me remember the many wonderful days I shared with my family as a child, some who are no longer with us. Rockwell captured the spirit of these precious memories, knowing they are very much alive in our hearts.
A happy and safe Thanksgiving to all.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! hope you had a wonderful time....
I love Rockwell, especially for the creative transition he made with his artwork, which was influenced by his second wife.
From a philosophical point of view, ...yes, the passage of time makes us sad when it involves losing someone, but branches of trees must be pruned to allow it to grow stronger and more beautiful. I believe we must do all we can to cherish the relationships we have, then we can appreciate the future even more.
Thanks for sharing. Hope you had the best Thanksgiving ever!
Thank you Diana...yes, we did,we had a wonderful time...and I hope that you and your family also had a blessed day!
Jacqueline, thank you for the wonderful words about Rockwell and the beautiful analogy of the pruning of a tree. We see it very clearly in our family, from those who are no longer with us to the next couple of generations who are coming up behind us. We had a blessed day, as I pray you and your family did as well!
