Time for Renewal! Work in Progress...

I'm re-evaluating, I cleaning house, I'm moving some things around because I need to change my focus. I will be spending less time dropping EC's. Since the big change in the EntreCard community, things have slowed down to a snail's pace and I simply cannot take the time anymore. I have enjoyed being in the top spot in the art category for quite a few months now. However, it seems that I am doing less art, less photography and less jewelry making. I am already working on some new art projects! I will be keeping up with my blog because I love blogging. Spring is in the air, and it's time to plant new seeds, so that's what I'm doing. I'll keep you posted as they say!

This drawing is a 'work in progress'. I have drawn a series of 3 Victorian doorknobs. I penciled in all three very, very gently, but it's time to bring them to life! They are all so different, with amazing detail, and what I love most about them is that they are over 100 years old!! Like living in a Victorian house, often the thought, 'if only these walls could speak', applies to these brass doorknobs as well!

This looks really interesting and promising as a new subject, Amy.
I think you (and many others) have the right idea.. concentrate more on work instead of clicking around on EC, especially now that they have "commercialized". I have all my favorites on my "reading list" so if they drop out of the EC catalog I can still keep up.
Good luck with these.. anxious to see how they progress.

Hope you had a wonderful Easter Amy!!!

I left EC last year because I found I was spending far too much time dropping...I've kept a short list of blogs I enjoy reading and try my best to keep up with those favorites! So I fully understand your decision!

This door knob is wonderful...the detail is amazing...imagine having something like this is your home!!! I love antiques...it must be grand to live in a Victorian home...

Cheers

Hi Mark...thank you so much for your feedback on this topic...I know that it's the right decision...it's just taking a moment to get into the 'new routine'...the doorknobs, the VICTORIAN doorknobs were just amazing...I had quite the time drawing them...more to come!!

Thank you Heather...I hope you had a wonderful Easter as well. I remember when you left EC last year...I'm going to do some dropping by my favs as well...but, last night I started dropping, and as things have been going, the computer froze, AGAIN, and I stopped...so it goes..

We lived in a 100 ear old Victorian when we first moved to RI and this is where I drew them, so, I was very attached to these, and this amazing home...I had a real love affair w/ that house, but happily, where we live now, is much more a HOME!!!...hugs to you..:))

Hiya Kim...well, I made the decision...whew...not letting the blog go, just most of the dropping...change is good, and this was the right time...no question. The doorknobs are amazing...wait until you see the other 2 and how incredibly different they all are...details, details, details....

Hope that you all had a blessed Easter...love and hugs..:))

Hi Amy,

I too am glad you are going to do what you are so good at and devote more time to your art work. I don't know anything about EC (unless we are talking Easter Celebrations) but I do not what it is like to lose focus and have things get in the way of creation.

Those door handles look terrific and I can't wait to see more of what you have in store for us.

Hey dear Triz...I'm 'relaxing' into the new schedule...it is very freeing, indeed...I'm taking my time w/ the doorknobs...have to get the 'feel' of the pencil back in gear...still very delicate work!!! Love the new pics of Ethan...he's growing Triz...I can see it...at that age, they are literally growing in their sleep!!! YIKES...)))))

Thank you so much Liza...we did have a lovely Easter and Passover...I'll keep you posted, as they say...hope you and Joel are finding comfort and strength w/ each new day...:))

Bernard, thank you so much...EC is a web site for blogs (Entrecard.com), and it helps to draw traffic, but it can be very, very time consuming. So, I'm kind of going cold turkey, and hitting the drawing boards once again. As I've mentioned, all 3 doorknobs are so completely different..it's kind of amazing, and they were all in the same house!! Be well and thank you so much for stopping by to comment!!!

I'm so glad to see you reviving these doorknobs - I've been waiting for this!!!
I too have stepped back from ecard - all the way back - I removed it completely from my blog so that I could focus on the initial purpose - to entertain, inform and educate.
I'll see you soon. You don't need a ecard for me to drop by! Christy
