My 200th Post!!!

I've read so many of your blogs where you've reached your 200th post and I have to say, I am always sincerely happy for you. Each one of you has expressed gratitude to your readers, you are thankful for the friends you have made along the way, feeling a certain sense of accomplishment, all well archived. I have to say, I feel the exact same way. I could not have imagined how organically this blog would have unfolded and grown, the wonderful friends I have made, from Israel to Australia, from the Pacific Northwest, to Columbus and Canada. So, a hearty thank you to all of you who take the time to read and comment, and to my very dear friends who have made all this blogging business a very rich and rewarding ride!!

Speaking of unfolding and growing organically, THE VICTORY GARDEN has officially doubled in size. I now have 2, 6'x6' plots of land which my husband so lovingly carved out. The tomatoes were too close together, so I had to spread them out, and I planted purple, spicy lemon or miniature, and 'frilly' (the aroma is to die for) basil in garden #2. We have more than tripled the planting from last year and look forward to a great haul which we expect will take us straight into next summer. Again, a slice of heaven. It doesn't take much. I'm a really happy camper right now!

Congratulations! I can't wait to read the next 200 posts, and your gardens look delightful! i am so happy for you - there is nothing better than homegrown anything :)

Thank you dear Kim!!!!...live and learn as I noticed some of the purple basil 'missing'...well, it turns out that I saw a black bird flying away w/ one of my 'sapling' plants hanging from its bill...I felt like it was a baby turtle who never made it to the ocean (I stood there w/ my jaw having dropped)...boo hoo...my neighbor (the MASTER gardener) suggested I cover the basil w/ cheesecloth...so far so good...always something...this should be the worst of my worries...:)))

Meghann...thank you so much...I look forward to see what the next 200 bring as well!!! The garden has a learning curve (see comment above), but the JOY of it...a THRILL...homegrown, handmade...I agree...all the best..:))
