We had a wonderful day on Saturday at the Providence Art Festival. Gloomy and rainy as it has been in New England, for what seems like weeks now, lo and behold, the SUN made an unexpected appearance! Truly, nothing short of a miracle, as I woke up this morning to the familiar sound of rain! The festival began at 10:30 AM, but, setting up takes quite a while, and I was scheduled to arrive at 9AM. Well, by 10:30, the action began, and the traffic did not stop all day. I barely had time to take these couple of shots. I sold some of everything, framed 4x6 photos, matted 5x7 photos, jewelry and, yes, people, cards galore. Individually, they are only $3 a piece. (I sell them in my Etsy shop, 6 for $18, although I am considering selling individual cards...hmmm, may have to raise the price a bit....again, hmmmm) These are tough economic times, so the cards went flying off my tables. If I had a nickle for the number of times I said 'thank you' yesterday, I would be a rich woman. There was a great spirit, wonderful conversation, the gals on either side of me were friendly and warm, and I made a few dollars along the way. I always learn new things when I show my work, but this was outside, so the learning curve was just a little bit bigger. Now, I rest, then onto the next project....

looks like you had a wonderful day Amy...
congratulations on your sales (but I'm not surprised ;) )
I'm so pleased that the sun was out for you :)...I'd say the rain would certainly have made the whole experience disappointing...
have a good rest and a wonderful week!!
xxx
looks awesome, amy! i would love to visit providence sometime. maybe we could meet in person! :)
Look at that bright sunny day...folks in shorts and short sleeves...I'm sure the sunny day made the whole event for you! Congratulations on your sales but then that doesn't surprise me...you are such a talented lady!
I love doing shows like this one...so many people, so much fun, but they do tend to tire me out...I'm getting old! :0)
Enjoy some quiet time Amy, because I know you won't sit still for long...
Cheers
Congratulations on your sales Amy. I wish I'd been there instead of here as the temperature hit minus 6 here the other night!

Hiya Kim...it was really a great day..and the good weather certainly was a big boost for everyone's spirits...by around 4PM, the wind kicked in and cards were LITERALLY flying off my tables and down the street..3 of the framed pieces are now hanging in my house because they got a little 'ding', when they hit the pavement because of the wind as well..a little gift from Mother Nature to me!!!....hence, the famous, 'learning curve'....have a wonderful week...Bernard said that you all are freezing down under...stay warm...XXXXXXX
and thank you for the congrats on the sales...:))
Christina!!!! thank you...it was awesome...I would LOVE to see you here in Providence...you are welcome anytime...I'll feed you..Tim could tell you that I've talked about my cooking on the forums...lol..:)))
Heather, you and Kim, and a couple of the other Gals & Guys (you know who you are), have been so supportive and wonderful...so thank you for your continued vote of confidence...it means alot...:))
The show is all consuming for a couple of weeks (and then some), just in the preparation...right down to 'paper or plastic'?? I was in bed before 10PM that night and do not remember hitting the pillow!!! I LOVE your new picture...hugs..
Oh Bernard, when we were freezing our little bottoms off here in January/February, you were enjoying the mild weather...and honestly, right now, we're back to gloomy...it's kind of unbelievable...so bundle up..stay warm...thank you for the congrats on the sales...it was a great day...:))
PS. Kim, you can see some of the cross stitch on the tablecloths...but, I will do a post about them...:))
