Edward and I spent an afternoon at the Museum of Natural History, in the winter of 2007. He needed more 'life' drawings for his portfolio. We sat together and drew with pencil, this lion (bottom image) on the second floor of the museum. I love the drawing he did. We even made stamps out of the image. However, he was home this weekend from Boston and he showed me this pencil drawing he recently competed of another lion (top image). I must say, I believe he has really grown as an artist!!!

By the way. I do really appreciate your comment. Thanks for your concern ma'am. I just hope and pray to God that your son will be okay now.
I wish I could meet your son ma'am he is really a good artist. I also took art education subject that's why I appreciated it a lot.
Keep going.

hey Miss Deb...I thought so too...but even more so, I had the other lion to compare the two...and I said 'wow' as well...:))
Thank you Jackie...he's like a drawing machine...drawing all the time...so glad that he's really sticking w/ it...have a great week as well..:))
Kim, his line work is just amazing, pen and ink as well...and now, they kids who are majoring in art have tablets where they can draw right on to the computer w/ the same line sensitivity...this drawing was in his sketchbook...I'm soooo glad that he can draw from life...and w/ PENCIL...to me, the most important tool..you too Kim, well, have a happy Tuesday!!!..:))
Elf, you hit the nail on the head...his line sensitivity is really something...so glad you like..:))
Ah ha Gabby gal..yup, he got it from his mama!!!

what a sketch.... superb....
These are extraordinary drawings. Such vivid details. Great sketches.
Amy, thank you so much for sharing this. I remember when you last showed us Edward's lion (and yours too perhaps? my memory isn't THAT great lol)
He has come so far, and seems to have really developed a good eye for what is and, more importantly, ISN'T there...great use of space and texture.
Leet...thank you...you too are sooooo talented w/ portraits and pencil work...Edward will really appreciate your comment...:))
Thank you Poetic Shutterbug...I have read all of thses wonderful comments to Edward, as I will w/ yours as well..
Christy...I'm going to copy/paste your comment and send it off to Edward...yes, your memory is very good...I posted both of our lion drawings from that day...he is learning what is and what is not in life as well...he's had quite the summer experience @ school this semester...thank you so much dear Gal...:))
I agree Amy
nothing replaces drawing IRL ..
Charlotte has one of the tablets too...but I don't think I'll ever get the hang of it :) ;)
wow!!!! your boy can certainly draw! both of those drawings are amazing!!!! Ethan has just started to draw and am so proud of him... you must be so proud of Edward! :-)
Hello my Triz...yes, we are very proud of him, for so many different reasons...I just cleaned out the scary crawl space, which held everything of Edward's from birth (other than that which had already been thrown or given away), and I found all of his old art work, from the beginning of Pokemon, Spiderman, Batman...and he too had a chance to look thru everything...he's come a looooonnnggg way baby...would LOVE to see some of what Ethan is drawing...stay poolside, stay cool...wish I could join you there....:)))
