Looks like a beautiful river. I hope the water damage is not too bad. It's sounds like many on the East coast have been or are going to be experiencing some flooding. Stay safe. :)

Hiya John...this is the 'end of the River' where it empties into the Stillhouse Cove, then to the Bay...the people down river have been hit hard...lots of evacuations...NJ, Ct., and NY/Westchester County are also suffering...lots of houses flooded w/ murky water, power still out...thankfully, we are fine...thank you for the good thoughts...:))...and yes, this part of the River is especially pretty...!!

How are you doing w/ your 'new way of eating?'...hope that all is going well..

While the river does look beautiful Amy, I know first hand what high water can do...I hope those who live there are safe, with little damage!!!!

We had serious water problems a number of years ago...there is a dam system controlling our lake, for a few years it wasn't being operated the way it should have...it is now being controlled spring and fall so for the last 5 or so years we have had safe water levels...

I'm happy to hear your are fine in your area...thankfully!!! Stay safe...
Cheers

Those pictures really are pretty but I guess it isn't so pretty for you. I hope it didn't get into your house or business. Pretty scary all that water racing along. This is our first visit to your blog and it is very nice.

hope everyone stays safe! it has been turbulent here as well with the ice packs leaving the mountains and heading towards the river valleys!

good morning Heather...the Pawtuxet River is very pretty...especially, as shown here, @ the Stillhouse Cove...once a great hub for trading...safe water levels is tricky business, when there are dams or levies involved, storm walls and other safety devices...thankfully, the weather is gorgeous, but as of yesterday alot of people in RI, who were effected by the overflow were still not allowed back into their homes...we are fine, (not close enough to the River), thankfully to be effected...and I'm glad that your water system on the lake has given you safe water levels for the past 5 years...

Hi Marg!!!...we are fine...I just couldn't resist taking the photos..Pawtuxet Village (one of the oldest in RI), is where I do all my 'stuff', so, I had to take these photos as history had been made w/ these high waters...yes, lots of water in the NE...very scary and very close to home...again, thankfully, we are snug as a little bug...so glad that you stopped by...I enjoy your blog as well!!!

Yes, Ms. Muse, there was footage of ice packs coming down a river and breaking off in huge chunks as they went over a small dip or falls in the river..Mother Nature has handed so many quite a lot to deal with this winter...worldwide...we must continue to pray...

That Rover looks like just came out of the sea. I hope the situation gets better soon.

We aren't having floods, but a lot of people are getting hurt in the washes...crazy that people keep going in them.

Hey Vanilla Seven...I took some pics yesterday of the same spot of the River (will post later or tomorrow)...it was still raging, though better...about 38 properties down river have be declared 'uninhabitable'...the Northeast took a big hit from this storm...we are fine...thank goodness!!

Thank you Karen for your good thoughts...the water in front of Shaws (our supermarket), is on the back side of the Pawtuxet River and the water was literally up to the main road on Monday...YIKES!!

Waterrose, yes, it is crazy that people play w/ the strong currents...the water can be so deceptive!!
