The scent of lilac is one of my favorites. In high school, my nickname was "Lily Lilac" because of the perfume I wore. I'm still not sure if the teasing was exactly good natured (or not!), but I didn't care then, and I sure wouldn't mind being enveloped in a cloud of it again for old times sake!

Hiya Jennie...mind you, it is yet and still a bush, but it's a great start!!...I may call you 'Lily Lilac' now as well, w/ all affection...and send the glorious fragrance clear across the country to Robin's Woods...:)))))))

Thank you Tara...we are totally thrilled w/ the blooms and now the bonus fragrance...will bring some in the house @ the right time...right now I'm enjoying the aroma of the eggplant parm I just took out of the oven!!!!

I absolutely adore lilacs! I wish I could find some of that deep purple, white trimmed variety, locally. All I ever seem to find is the pale almost white lavender.

Izile, it was a surprise to us, as this was our first bloom, so we're thrilled that we've got any lilacs...will probably cut them back today or tomorrow and bring them in the house!!
