...happily showing some of my new pieces, now neatly packed away for the move to Colorado!!!!

It was my last show in Rhode Island. I started selling jewelry out of the house on Albert, when we first moved to Rhode Island, and it organically evolved into showing my wares at craft shows round and about Rhode Island along with the hundreds and hundreds of other gifted artists and crafts people from the New England area. My virgin voyage with the photos was 4 years ago at the Boathouse, and the rest, as they say is history. This is a small sampling of the beautiful work from yesterdays' vendors.

Many thanks to Margarita, the enormously gifted jewelry maker from her own studio,
Margarita Designs, fun and feminine vintage glass jewelry designs with contemporary flair, for orchestrating such a welcoming event!!

I Will Miss These Beautiful Views...

Looking West from the Pawtuxet Cove, late summer...
...and today, boats wrapped in plastic for the cold months ahead in the Pawtuxet Cove Marina

Yes, it's a great adventure, moving to Colorado, but I will sorely miss the beautiful landscape of our jewel of a Village, Pawtuxet. Over these past 10 years, I have never tired of the walks by the water down to the Cove, high tide and low (like today), in every season, including the shot of the boats being 'wrapped' up for the cold winter ahead @ the Pawtuxet Cove Marina. Thank goodness I have a wonderful digital record of the changing seasons and landscape, whatever has caught my eye round and about, along with the unbridled freedom of posting them here, on my blog!

Gifts in November...

Yesterday it was 64 degrees at the shore in Rhode Island...my husband and I we thrilled to visit our friend, Miss Ocean and enjoy the warmth of the sun, the loud crashing waves, the high tide, the cloudless skies and the long walk which we so love during the summer months...I even came home with some excellent rocks.

We have also seen a colorful autumn, albeit, somewhat late, because of the brutally hot summer we just experienced.
The bottom 4 photos are from the Stillhouse and Pawtuxet Coves, respectively. New England 'charming', at it's best!!

The River's Edge...On Consignment!!!

I met Jim Bradley at the Aspray Boathouse holiday show in December. His display was parallel to mine, so we had a chance to talk in between all the action. I knew I liked him when he made a joke about my giving him my last double chocolate Milano cookie. Yes, people, of course, I gave him the cookie.

Jim and his lovely wife, Nikki have a fabulous shop in town (Pawtuxet Village rocks), called The River's Edge Flowers & Gifts. The River's Edge Flowers utilizes only the freshest of the world's flowers, exceeding the ordinary and producing lasting memories. Whether it is a bouquet going to your sweetheart just to show you love them or a large event, such as a wedding. You can see from the photos just how fresh and gorgeous their flowers are. I was over there yesterday taking photos when Jim came in with a couple of boxes (see pic above), which he just picked up from the airport. Included, were Gerberer daisy's, which were like Siamese twins, each stem

was a double flower!

The store supports local artists as well where work is sold on consignment. I brought some of my framed 5x7 photos over earlier in the week. Nikki and Jim picked 5 and have hung them in unique spots throughout the store. They have so many artists on display,

including a large array of jewelry, from delicate wire work to scrabble piece pendants, handmade soaps (yeah for StellaMarie), ceramics, cards, handmade aprons, for children as well, unique handmade mobiles, candles, stained glass, paintings, and their own creations of melted vinyl records to be used

for bowls! .

The River's Edge is a bright spot in our Pawtuxet Village! You can find Nikki & Jim Bradley at 2172 Broad Street, Pawtuxet Village, RI. 401-941-9972.

You can contact me through my Etsy shop, Lilleypics, for any questions you may have about the framed photos!!!

Antique Haven

I live near the historic Pawtuxet Village. One of the oldest towns in Rhode Island. I'm talking 1600's old. This is where I do all my daily 'stuff'. When we first moved to Rhode Island 8 years ago, and we began to explore our little New England town, we stumbled up an antique store called 'Antique Haven' housed in the old Slocum House, circa 1760. I was immediately taken by the eye full of beautiful antiques, 'collectibles', vintage jewelry, art work, china, glassware, linens, lamps...the list goes on and on. Little by little I was even more taken with the owner of this quaint gem of a store, Claire Silverman. She exuded such warmth, and a welcoming spirit. She loves for people to take all the time they want or need to look, to touch, or just move around the store. I frequented the store often and as a result, over the past 8 years, Claire and I have grown to be very good friends. We simply love one another. We are cut out of the same cloth, we 'get' one another, and clearly we share a great love for antiques! She has been a tremendous cheerleader for me with the work I do as an artist, jewelry maker and photographer. She recently bought some of my cards and has put them in her store. She wants more for the upcoming Holidays. I am thrilled, because of who Claire is and because she has the best antique store in Rhode Island...seriously! You can find Claire and her store, Antique Haven at 30 Post Road, Warwick, Rhode Island. 401-785-0327.
