Spring!!!!

'It is said that springs of sweet, fresh water pool up amid the saltiness of the oceans, that the fairest Alpine flowers bloom in the wildest most rugged mountain passes, and that the most magnificent psalms arose from the most profound agonies of the soul.
May it continue to be!'

New Year, 2013....

This has been a most memorable year, 2012. We relocated from Rhode Island and kissed the ocean goodbye, we said hello to Colorado  and the majesty of her mountains, as we adjusted to living 6000 feet in the air, we lost Mom in August. We gained a deeper faith and hope, we made new friends. We have seen sunrises and sunsets of awesome beauty which were previously unimaginable to us. We saw the Canyon burn, and met heroes along the way. We have wept w/ the nation upon seeing Sandy and Newton, Ct. Yet and still we can say, 'Thus far the Lord has helped us', (1 Samuel 7:12). 'Whether through poverty, wealth, sickness, or health, whether at home or abroad, or on land, sea, or air, and whether in honor, dishonor, difficulties, joy, trials, triumph, prayer or temptation - 'Thus far the Lord has helped!' (Streams in the Desert, December 31).

It is our hope and prayer for you to have a blessed and healthy 2013, with glorious and miraculous prospects!!!!!

Gifts in November...

Yesterday it was 64 degrees at the shore in Rhode Island...my husband and I we thrilled to visit our friend, Miss Ocean and enjoy the warmth of the sun, the loud crashing waves, the high tide, the cloudless skies and the long walk which we so love during the summer months...I even came home with some excellent rocks.

We have also seen a colorful autumn, albeit, somewhat late, because of the brutally hot summer we just experienced.
The bottom 4 photos are from the Stillhouse and Pawtuxet Coves, respectively. New England 'charming', at it's best!!

Beach Week, (cont'd)...

Our time at the beach is winding down...as have we! It is so relaxing being at the shore as your body seems to take on the natural rhythm of the the waves, the rising and falling of the tide, the loveliness of being there at dusk. I have taken some very long walks with my husband toward Point Judith, where the Block Island Ferry makes her entrance and exit for the 50 minute ride. We love to wave to the people on the boat as we critique all the other boats (lobster boats, sail boats, and boats of many sizes and shapes...we compare them to cars), coming and going. I have also had a couple of really good hauls of new rocks and I'll need to purchase a new glass vase to house them. Tonight we will treat our selves to dinner by the ocean at Point Judith and with great gratitude in our hearts, we cheer the end of a FABULOUS week, and the start of something new!

Beach Week

We are on vacation this week and we are sticking close to home to enjoy the beauty of our favorite beach here in Rhode Island. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the beach, so this is close to heaven for us. We both need a well deserved break from all the action. This is a fabulous walking beach. If you walk the entire beach back and forth, or however you do it, it's a healthy 3 mile walk. And we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to walk. The picture of the elderly couple is so touching to me. It speaks volumes about them, the placement of his cane, the way they were together. They spent the afternoon watching their grandchildren having the time of their lives. My husband and I will be them one day, because we will never stop going to the beach, even if we have to be wheeled there! The other photos are my husband relaxing (I could have gotten him sleeping, mouth open, but, I opted out...this was nice), and our 'stuff'....we're headed back tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday.....we should be well vacationed by the end of this coming weekend!!!
